About The Workshop
This workshop will cover common errors that lead to misdiagnosis of clients and ways to avoid these problems. Dr. Skellie will provide wide ranging information useful to behavioral health service providers based on current research, practice, and case study focusing on accurate diagnosis and dangers of misdiagnosis for our clients. We will work to develop strategies to reduce the risk of problematic misdiagnosis and to work with challenging clients in an ethical manner.

- Understanding professional boundaries & issues with therapist self-disclosure
- Distinguishing between boundary crossing & boundary violations in the therapeutic relationship
- How to manage multiple roles in psychotherapy: tools for therapists
- Ethical use of therapist flexible boundaries including case discussion
About The Presenter
Dr. Mark Skellie earned his BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. He currently serves as a clinical psychologist offering individual and group psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, forensic and bariatric surgery evaluations and consulting with numerous behavioral health organizations. He also provides psychosocial assessments, evaluations and professional consultations for Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans providing services for underserved families in Orleans Parish. Dr. Skellie has offered a wide range of professional presentations since 2012 including A DSM Primer, Personality Disorders, Ethics, Working with Men, Healing Grief and Working with the Elderly. He is a member of the following organizations: Louisiana Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, Georgia Psychological Association, Atlanta Group Psychotherapy Society.
